Starting and availability
Do I need an account to use Soulv?
No. No name, email, or password is required to begin a reflection.
What devices does Soulv work on?
Soulv is currently available on iPhone through the App Store.
Is Soulv available outside the United States?
Availability depends on your App Store region. Soulv is currently offered in English.
Text and voice reflections
Can I type a reflection?
Yes. One text reflection is free per rolling month, and Supporter includes additional reflections.
Is voice reflection free?
No. Voice reflection is a Supporter feature.
What happens when I start a reflection?
You describe what's actually on your mind, and Soulv responds with a reflection shaped around it. A reflection may close with a short blessing and one next step, though the exact response depends on what you share.
Growth and Seeds
What is Growth?
Growth is a journal of your reflections, stored locally on your device.
What is a Seed?
A Seed is one small, concrete takeaway you choose to save from a reflection so you can return to it later.
Are Growth and Seeds available on the free tier?
Some access is available for free. Supporter unlocks voice reflection, more reflections, Seeds, and your full Growth history — see Support for current allowances.
Privacy and data handling
Does everything I write stay on my phone?
No. Your Growth journal is stored locally on your device, but an active reflection is sent to Soulv’s backend and an AI provider to generate a response. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can other people see what I write?
Your reflections are not public or visible to other Soulv users. Active reflection content is processed by Soulv’s backend and an AI provider and may be retained under a pseudonymous device identifier. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Does Soulv use my reflections to train AI models?
No. Soulv does not use your reflection content to train its AI models.
How do I delete my data?
You can clear local data by deleting the app, or contact support to request deletion of records held by Soulv’s backend.
Catholic identity and product limits
Is Soulv approved by the Catholic Church?
No. Soulv is inspired by Catholic spiritual wisdom, but it does not carry Vatican, diocesan, or priestly approval.
What sources support Soulv's Learn articles?
Scripture, the Catechism, Vatican documents, and Ignatian sources, among others. See the full list on Sources.
Who reviews what Soulv publishes?

Confession, spiritual direction, and therapy
Can Soulv hear my confession?
No. Soulv cannot hear sacramental Confession or give absolution. It can help you organize your thoughts before you go to a priest.
Is using Soulv the same as spiritual direction?
No. Soulv is inspired by spiritual direction but is not a substitute for a human spiritual director. See Spiritual Direction for the difference.
Should I use Soulv instead of therapy?
No. Soulv is not a therapist and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
Subscriptions and support
What does Supporter cost?
Current pricing and allowances are always shown in the app.
How do I cancel a Supporter subscription?
You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings.
How do I contact support?
Write to us through the Contact page, or the contact method shown in the app’s Settings.
Safety and urgent help
What if I'm in crisis?
Soulv is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, free and available 24/7.
Does Soulv monitor for emergencies?
Soulv is not an emergency-monitoring service and cannot reliably detect or intervene in a crisis. Its AI is designed to respond to crisis-related language with safety guidance, but contact emergency services or a crisis line directly when help may be needed.
