Privacy Policy for Soulv

Last Updated: September 2026

Soulv is designed as a private space for Catholic reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Soulv is a Catholic spiritual companion inspired by the tradition of spiritual direction. Soulv is not a priest, confession, absolution, therapy, diagnosis, medical advice, or emergency support.

Our privacy principle

Soulv is built around privacy and trust.

Soulv does not require an account today. Your Growth Journal and reflection history are stored locally on your device.

When you begin a reflection session, your active session text is sent securely to Soulv’s backend and AI provider to generate the response, blessing, summary, Seeds, or reflection you request.

Soulv’s current backend may also retain user and assistant messages under a pseudonymous device identifier for service analysis, including understanding common themes and where sessions end. No automatic retention period is currently configured.

We do not sell your reflection content. We do not use your reflection content for advertising. We do not use your reflection content to train AI models.

Information we collect

Device identifier

Soulv currently uses a device identifier to operate the app, manage free usage limits, support subscription access, prevent abuse, and maintain basic app functionality.

This identifier is not intended to identify you personally.

Reflection content

When you write or speak in Soulv, your active session content is processed so the app can generate the response you request.

This may include reflections, blessings, summaries, themes, Seeds, or related spiritual companion responses.

Soulv’s current backend may retain user and assistant messages under a pseudonymous device identifier for service analysis. Your Growth Journal and reflection history are stored locally on your device.

Voice input

If you use voice features, your spoken input may be transcribed into text so Soulv can process it and respond.

Voice input is used only to provide the feature you requested. Soulv does not access your microphone unless you choose to use voice features and grant permission.

Subscription information

If you purchase Soulv Supporter, your subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store.

Soulv may use subscription infrastructure to verify subscription status and manage access to supporter features.

We do not receive your credit card number, Apple ID password, or full Apple payment information.

Technical information

Soulv may process limited technical information needed to operate the app, protect the service, fix errors, and maintain reliability.

AI processing

Soulv uses AI technology to provide reflections, blessings, summaries, Seeds, and related spiritual companion responses.

When you begin a reflection session, your active session text is sent securely to Soulv’s backend and AI provider to generate the response you request.

Soulv’s current backend may also retain the conversation under a pseudonymous device identifier for service analysis. This is separate from the local Growth Journal.

We do not use your reflection content to train Soulv’s AI models. We also do not intentionally share your reflection content with AI providers for their model training.

If Soulv ever offers optional sharing of reflection content for product improvement, it will be clearly explained and opt-in.

Local device storage

Soulv is designed so your Growth Journal and reflection history are stored locally on your device.

If you delete the app or clear local app data, locally stored journal or reflection history may be deleted from your device.

Third-party services

Soulv may use service providers to operate the app. These may include:

  • AI provider: processes active session text to generate app responses
  • Apple: processes App Store purchases and subscriptions
  • Subscription infrastructure provider: helps verify subscription status and supporter access
  • Backend infrastructure provider: helps securely route requests and operate the service

These providers process information only as needed to provide app functionality, subscription access, infrastructure, security, or support.

Subscriptions and payments

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings.

Data retention

Reflection conversations

Soulv’s current backend may retain user and assistant messages under a pseudonymous device identifier. There is currently no automatic expiry period for these records; they may remain until manually deleted.

Your Growth Journal and reflection history are stored locally on your device.

Device identifier

Soulv may retain a device identifier as needed to operate the app, manage free usage limits, support subscription access, prevent abuse, and maintain app functionality.

Technical information

Limited technical information may be retained as needed to operate the app, fix errors, protect the service, and maintain reliability.

Support requests

If you contact support, we may retain your message and contact details as needed to respond and maintain support records.

Data deletion

You may clear your local journal or reflection history using the options available inside Soulv, if provided by the app, or by deleting the app from your device.

Clearing local data or deleting the app does not by itself delete records retained by Soulv’s backend.

To request deletion of data associated with your app usage or a support request, contact us at support@soulvapp.com.

Future account or sync features

Soulv does not require an account today.

Soulv may introduce optional account, sync, backup, email login, or product-improvement features in the future.

If those features are introduced, they will be optional, and this Privacy Policy and App Store privacy details will be updated before they are made available.

Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

No digital service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect your information and limit collection where possible.

Children

Soulv is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International users

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where Soulv and its service providers operate.

By using Soulv, you understand that information may be processed by our service providers as described in this Privacy Policy.
