How Soulv works
Bring one real moment. Leave with one faithful next step.
Soulv is a private, AI-assisted Catholic reflection companion. Here is exactly what happens when you use it, what it can and cannot do, and how it fits alongside prayer, journaling, human spiritual direction, Confession, and therapy.
Download Soulv ↗The flow
Four steps, start to finish.
01
Begin by text or voice
Begin by typing what's on your mind. One text reflection is free per rolling month; voice is a Supporter feature.
02
Say what's actually happening
There's no need to make it sound like a prayer. Soulv is built to meet the honest version of the moment, not a polished one.
03
Read a reflection shaped around it
Soulv responds with an AI-assisted reflection. It may close with a short blessing and one faithful next step, though the exact response depends on what you share.
04
Carry one thing forward
Save a next step as a Seed and plant it. It comes back later and asks whether it held — and “not yet” is a real answer. Your Growth journal stays on your device.
Text and voice
Type it, or hold to speak it.
One text reflection is free per rolling month. Voice reflection comes with Supporter, and works by holding to speak rather than a scripted conversation.

Hold to speak your heart
Illustrative narration, not the app's voice. This page never uses your microphone.
Privacy, plainly
What stays on your device, and what doesn’t.
Your Growth journal is stored locally on your device. An active reflection is sent to Soulv’s backend and an AI provider to generate the response, and the backend may retain that conversation under a pseudonymous device identifier for service analysis. Soulv does not use your reflection content to train AI models or for advertising.
Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
How Soulv compares
Where Soulv fits, and where it doesn’t try to.
A prayer library
A prayer library gives you existing words for common moments. Soulv starts from your own words about your own moment, then responds to what you actually said.
A private journal
A journal holds what you write. Soulv also responds to it, with a reflection and a next step you can return to in Growth.
Human spiritual direction
Spiritual direction is an ongoing relationship with a person who knows you and exercises human judgment over time. Soulv can help you notice something or prepare a question between conversations — it cannot replace that relationship.
Sacramental Confession
Confession is a sacrament administered by a priest, who alone can give absolution. Soulv cannot hear Confession or absolve sin. It can help you organize what's on your heart before you go.
Therapy
A therapist assesses and treats mental and emotional difficulties. Soulv is not a therapist, does not diagnose, and is not a substitute for professional or crisis care.
Where a human should be part of it.
Soulv cannot hear Confession, give absolution, or replace a priest, a spiritual director, or a therapist. If what you’re carrying belongs in one of those conversations, Soulv is meant to help you get there, not stand in for it. See spiritual direction and confession preparation for more.
If you need urgent help
If you might harm yourself or are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency service or crisis line now. In the United States and its territories, call or text 988 or use the 988 Lifeline chat. This page and Soulv are not substitutes for medical or psychological care.
